Symptoms of Shingles

Illness is the first sign, as though they might be having the flu. Other symptoms-like fever, a terrible headache, feeling nauseous, and having the chills-are part of the prodromal stage, which means the part when the rash would appears.

There are two stages of the shingles, the prodromal stage, which is when the rash is about to appear, and the eruptive stage, when the rash emerges.

This prodromal stage happens in about 2 to 5 days prior to having the rash. These are the classic symptoms, and these involve:

Feeling nauseous, fever, the chills and headache

Lack of feeling on one part of the body or of the face

Itchy, intense pain on one portion of your body or face, which may be steady or alternating

During the eruptive stage, when the rashes come out, the redness and soreness, simultaneously having the swelling of your skin appear, along with a group of blisters that has clear fluid inside it.

Blisters would continually appear until the 5th day scattered in one specific area or forming a constant strip on your skin, called the dermatome, and these would resemble the chicken pox very much. They would be mildly exasperating, become very itchy, or at times, would become intensely awful.

In two weeks time, these blisters initially filled with clear liquid, become filled with pus and then would slowly heal itself, and form into scabs.

These blisters would always crop up on just one side of the body and the most common areas are: the torso, on your arms or legs, the waistline, and your buttocks.

Some people who have had it would describe the ache and soreness as severe and even at times insistently merciless.

If you feel you are having the symptoms, visit your doctor at once. FAMVIR® (famciclovir) a sample antiviral medication and this can help lower your symptoms and help the blisters cure quicker.

On the other hand, taking the medication must be started within the first 3 days, as soon as you notice the symptoms, so it is imperative to pay your doctor a visit.

With no treatment would mean that these blisters would disappear in 3 to 5 weeks. Yes, this illness would make one very prickly and unpleasant; it is not something that healthy people should be worried about.

People aged 50 or older, giving the antiviral FAMVIR may notably shorten the period of PHN, the condition of complications resulting from shingles, making the number of days you would be pain less.
